Headstand II PostureSanskrit: Sirsasana II Pose Type: inversion, Benefits: abdomen, arms, brain, heart, intestines, legs, lungs, pituitary, shoulders, wrists.
- Begin on hands and knees
- Ground hands shoulders distance apart with elbows above the hands and bent 90 degrees
- Place top of head on floor (so the neck is long) out in front of the hands
- Lift knees from the floor
- Step feet toward elbows to bring hips above shoulders
- Distribute weight evenly between arms and head
- With control, lift feet off the floor and extend legs upward stacking them above hips and shoulders
- Balls of the feet press up
